Biodiesels reduce global warming by limiting carbon dioxide emissions

Welcome to northeast biofuels

northeast biofuels is a cluster of companies and organisations committed to the development of a sustainable transport biofuels business in the North East of England. Typically this involves the production of biodiesel blends and bioethanol petrol additive from non-food crops, and development of related supply chains.

Our purpose is to:

Engage with the agricultural, chemical, energy and transport sectors to develop and promote biofuel supply chains for transport, industrial and domestic use, for the benefit of the North East region.

Advise local, regional and national Government and stakeholders on the development and implementation of biofuels policy.

Develop and promote wider community awareness of biofuels benefits throughout the supply chains.

Identify and assign expert and third party involvement in new business opportunities and value adding research.

Involve and promote companies active in biofuels supply chains.

Northeast Biofuels is also interested in supporting thermo-chemical routes to renewable fuels.  These processes take raw materials such as wood, straw and household waste, treat them by heating them to 800o C and then either use the hot gases, to generate power, or convert them into liquid fuels for use in heating, power or transport.
